A day, maybe a night ? Could be a morning... I don't remenber...
It was on november 2002. I met Polymer Clay, or was it which met me?
Now, that seems to be obvious, as if that had always been like !!
As if, any time and from always, I had been able to create beads, jewels and treasures from nothing !!

Polymer Clay is really something magic. It's malleable ad infinitum and allows to create numerous creations directly from "virtual" swirl imagination.
One moment, we imagine.
And after : colors, forms, mixtures, everything takes life, is existing and is surprising !

I went to Jewelry with the most natural way ... without thinking, without premeditating something. Then, I made others and others.. I invented my colors, forms and materials mixing. I cleared up some colors, used more and more differents materials : magic polymer clay, shining glass and crystal, tender wood, hot and traveller leather, versatile plastic, travellers exotics seeds, colored, shinning and elegant semi-precious stones... then satins, velvets, petals... I discovered ancestral universe of chineses knotts on satin lace, called "rat tail". Surprising, isn't it? Small satin rats, like those of the opera! They give such an imposing presence and so much ceremony!
All these jewels, one by one, received a first name which remember their history and ideas in which they were created. Some of this first names are obvious, other less; just like creations which have these names, some obvious, others less, all carried by the creative wave.

Here is my universe ! Gradually, it grows. Gradually, I nourish it.

NB : polymer clay is transformed, modelled using multiple known technicals :
- the millefiori, technical coming from the Venetian ancestral glass work,
- the mokume gane, Japonese technical coming from the metal work,
- the marbling, technical coming from the paper work,
- sculpture, moulding, gold sheet work, mosaic.
as well as others less known and/or invented: the "Skinner blend" (colours blend invented by the American polymerist Judith Skinner), the quilt bargello, and then... and then....
Every Palatena creations are made of polymer clay entirely or partially, by hand, by my hands, in France !
Each one is Unique (One-Of-A-Kind) or, rarely, in limited series (in this case, it will be precisely indicated)
